Columbia Streams Art artist turtle sculpture proposal submission form.

There would be no Columbia to call home without the closeness and public joy of our rivers.

The City of Columbia now seeks local artists to join in the celebration of our access and proximity to the three rivers, the Saluda, the Broad, and the Congaree, streaming through the heart of our City. The Columbia Streams Art public art program will select 10 local artists to exhibit their own unique creative expressions by painting or embellishing large fiberglass turtle sculptures, which will then be placed on public view at locations along our river walkways.

Thank you to Columbia’s creative community for responding with enthusiasm to our open artist call for proposals to paint the new Columbia Streams Art turtle sculptures. We are pleased with the number of submissions, and as of today, November 18, 2024, close the open submission process.

We are beginning our review and selection process and will alert the selected artists by the e-mail addresses they provided.
